Rikki discovered Mountain Biking as a teenager, and he’s been inseparable from anything with two wheels since. He combined this passion for riding with his Outdoor Instructing background, initially delivering GCSE Mountain Biking and Road Cycling courses. From this, Rikki gained both his British Cycling Coach and Guide awards before moving to Wales to focus on his personal riding. Since moving to Corris, Rikki has nearly spent as much time in the forest as his own home, getting to know the Dyfi Forest like the back of his hand. His real strength is ‘performance analysis’, helping clients identify areas to work on to improve their confidence and ability.
Rikki doesn’t just have the knowledge; he also has the experience of putting it all into practice himself and has spent time racing in every discipline before finding his love for Enduro. He has raced at International Enduro events at Elite Level, qualified for the EWS in 2020 and raced some EWS rounds in 2021. His presence on the race scene and social media has resulted in him securing sponsors for his race seasons over the past three years.
Working in Outdoor Education for over 8 years, Rikki has coached and guided clients in some of the most challenging environments imaginable – from mountain summits to cave systems, river rapids to downhill tracks. This wealth of experience gives him the knowledge and skills to adapt to his environment, and remain focused on the needs of the client he is working with. In 2019, Rikki was accepted by the IOL as a Registered Practitioner in Outdoor Learning due to his reflective practice and willingness to share ideas to support others.
